Principal Software Engineer, Independent Software Vendor Marketplace

Role Overview: Join Okta as a Principal Software Engineer for ISV Catalog team, where you will play a key role in redesigning the technical architecture & user experience of the OIN catalog to drive engagement and adoption for B2B / Enterprise SaaS companies. Your responsibilities will include developing secure components, APIs, and SDKs while fostering a culture of security, test-driven development, and design reviews. You will be part of a fast-moving team focused on delivering high-quality software and fostering network effects on the OIN Platform. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and refine requirements with Product Management and stakeholders, driving clarity and asking the right questions. - Collaborate with user experience designers and architects to scope engineering efforts and dependencies. - Develop secure and reusable components for consistent UI implementation. - Create APIs and SDKs that resonate with developers in B2B Enterprise SaaS companies. - Define observability and reliability metrics for the systems/features owned by you. - Bring an infectious enthusiasm and the right attitude towards ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus. Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of software development experience. - Proficiency in at least one backend language and framework such as Java, C#, or Typescript (NodeJS). - Familiarity with React or similar front-end UI stack (Angular, Vue); willingness to learn if not proficient yet. - Demonstrable knowledge of HTTP fundamentals and strong API Design skills. - Experience with database technologies like MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL. - Working experience with cloud-native systems of scale (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Familiarity with distributed systems patterns including caching and asynchronous processing. - Track record of delivering work incrementally, seeking feedback, and iterating over solutions. - Excellent written communication skills and a keen interest in developing a strong product sense.
