Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Power Plant Principal Engineer specializing in Combined Cycle Power Projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing power plant systems, focusing on the selection and integration of gas and steam turbines. This role requires a deep understanding of turbine technology, performance parameters, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and reliable power generation. Candidate shall be able to provide their expertise and guide the team in various aspects of power plant engineering starting from conceptual stage and up to startup commissioning.

Candidate should have worked for execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering and EPC modes of execution for Indian and International projects. This position is for Principal Engineer- Power Plant Specialist. The candidate shall be conversant in the development, review, and finalization of critical project deliverables like Design Criteria, Design calculations (example, flow and pressure-drop calculations), System sizing calculations for steam and water cycle, preparation of material requisition, technical bid evaluation and vendor design review and approval.

Major Responsibilities:

• Design and optimize power plant systems with a focus on Gas and Steam turbine machinery.
• Select appropriate turbines based on performance parameters, efficiency, and project requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for turbine selection and integration.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop and review technical specifications, design documents, and engineering drawings.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operational phases.
• Proficiency in software application such as GateCycle, GT PRO and ST PRO for gas turbine combined cycle and cogeneration plant design and optimization

Selected candidate will report to the Chief Engineer and essential job duties will include the following:

• Ensuring quality for the deliverables /work done
• Support project / proposal activities
• Interaction with Global office / Home office (abroad), execute work on workshare mode
• Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases
• Review technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Client / PMC
• Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
• Review Engineering design drawings, data sheets MRQs, assist the project team in selection critical vendor package evaluation.
• Review of critical VPs and providing their expert comments.
• Implement / Capture Lesson Learnt. Active pursuit of Value Engineering, design and cost optimization program
• Travel to help activities at other engineering offices, supplier's work, construction site as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair forworking with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and writtenEnglish language.
• Candidate to mention valid visa available including details of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage needs to be indicated.
• 20+ years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects.
• Ability to quickly provide data for carrying out preliminary detailing / estimation by Mechanical and other Engineering disciplines.
• Trouble shooting, resolution of Client and site queries.
• Knowledge & assessment of Suppliers capabilities.
• Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stakeholders including other offices.
• Good oral as well as written communication skills are essential.
