Principal Engineer, DSP

As a DSP Software Engineer at HARMAN Automotive, you will be responsible for customizing and integrating audio DSP algorithms within complex, multi-threaded, multi-processor architectures and audio frameworks for OEM IVI/HU and amplifiers. Your role will involve porting DSP algorithms to various processors/platforms, designing audio signal flows, and developing production-ready software following a defined software development process. Your expertise will be crucial in estimating processing resources, optimizing system performance, and ensuring seamless integration of DSP algorithms. Key Responsibilities: - Customise and integrate audio DSP algorithms within complex architectures and audio frameworks - Port DSP algorithms to various processors/platforms and optimize resource utilization - Design audio signal flows and software architectures using SW platform components - Develop production-ready software following a defined software development process - Estimate processing resources and optimize system performance Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - 8-10 years of experience in DSP, preferably in the audio field - 6+ years of embedded software development - 6+ years of C++/C or other structured language - Experience with filtering, audio processing/post-processing, and noise control algorithms - Strong understanding of DSP frameworks and communication protocols - Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills Bonus Points: - Knowledge of Android HAL and lower layers HARMAN Automotive offers a flexible work environment, extensive training opportunities through HARMAN University, competitive wellness benefits, tuition reimbursement, and access to employee discounts on world-class products.
