Principal Engineer - Backend (Nodejs)

Role Overview: As a Principal Engineer Backend at Crimson Enago, you will actively lead a team of young talented web developers, setting top-class engineering examples. You will take major responsibility for end-to-end project development and delivery along with the Engineering Manager (EM), other Principal Engineer (PE), SDE-3 leads, and Technical Project Manager (TPM). Your primary focus will be coding, accounting for 85-90% of your time. Key Responsibilities: - Frame technical solutions for complex business problems using excellent research skills. - Implement unit and integration testing, encourage extensive test coverage, and automate testing whenever possible. - Design and conduct a high-quality code-review process, maintain highly performant, testable code, and follow strong software design patterns. - Design optimized scalable solutions, break down complex problems into small tasks for incremental delivery, and review approaches created by the tech team to find optimal solutions. - Estimate project efforts accurately, ensure healthy communication up and down the chain of command, and help optimize and maintain cloud infrastructure and associated costs. - Educate the team on best practices around project deployment, and assist in the hiring process to build a tech team with specific qualities. Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of enterprise backend web experience primarily working on the NodeJS-AWS stack. - Proven 4+ years of cost-efficient, robust, and highly scalable solution architecting experience. - Extensive experience with backend technologies including relational and document databases, container orchestration, CI/CD, AWS technologies, HTML5, CSS3, and CSS frameworks. - Strong understanding of developer tooling, testing, monitoring, and observability best practices. - Experience in profiling, impact analysis, and Root Cause Analysis. - Added advantage: Experience working with Elasticsearch server cluster optimization and Apache Spark/Ray.
