Principal Consultant - Power Systems

As a Principal Engineer specializing in Power System Studies at WSP, you will bring over ten years of experience in engineering design, installation, configuration testing, and commissioning. Your role will involve overall responsibility for ensuring the quality, time, and budget requirements of various projects are met. Your key objectives will include conducting power system analysis for transmission and distribution projects, feasibility studies, masterplans, despatch studies, and renewable integration. You will prepare renewable generation connection schemes and perform load flow studies, fault level calculations, harmonic analysis, and voltage stability analysis on different power systems. Your expertise in tools such as DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PLEXOS, ETAP, CYME PSAF, ASPEN OneLiner, ASPEN database, and IPSA+ will be essential for these tasks. In this role, you will review technical submittals by EPC contractors and developers, attend meetings to address technical clarifications, and ensure grid compliance requirements are met during FAT & SAT visits. Your responsibilities will also include assisting clients in incorporating HVDC models into network PSSE & PSCAD models for planning studies. To excel in this position, you should hold a Masters Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering, possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in power system study software. Experience with HVDC offshore projects, grid impact studies, and transmission and distribution projects is crucial.
