AICTE criteria for appointing a principal for a Diploma Engineering college require a Ph.D. in a relevant field with First Class or equivalent at Bachelor's and Master's levels, and a minimum of 15 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry. At least 3 years of this experience must be at the rank of Professor, or a combination of 10 years of teaching/research/industry and 3 years at Professor level. Alternatively, 13 years of experience can be considered if at least 5 years were as Associate Professor.
In this case we prefer a candidate with PhD in Electrical Engineering. Candidates with PhD in Mechanical or Civil Engineering may also apply.
