The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in providing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans, driving Continuous Improvement, performing audits, ensuring adherence to workmanship standards, and leading Corrective Actions. They are responsible for investigating problem root causes, developing and implementing corrective and preventive methods, participating in product and process development teams, analyzing failure reports, collecting and reporting on measurement statistics, and maintaining a close relationship with plant quality for effective product release transitions. Additionally, the Quality Engineer facilitates the creation of control plans, process flows, and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) specific to new product development, collaborates with various departments to enhance product and service quality, resolves QA projects, communicates with Supplier Quality, and participates as an Auditor of the Vertiv Quality Management System. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a BA or BS degree or equivalent experience, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred. While no experience is required with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, the ability to design special tooling, develop manufacturing processes, assess new manufacturing technologies, quick adaptability to learning and applying new skills, and a strong work ethic with high standards for quality and quantity of work are desirable qualities in a Quality Engineer. In terms of physical requirements, the role may involve heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.), frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing (stairs, ladders). Environmental demands may include the use of protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, eyewear, and safety-toed shoes/boots. Additionally, the position may require 10% domestic and international travel.
