In Maharashtra, SSA focuses on improving infrastructure, teacher training, digital education, and learning outcomes. Role Summary As a Consultant under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, you will support the Government of Maharashtras School Education in planning, implementation, and monitoring of education development initiatives across the state. You will be responsible for policy analysis, capacity-building support, field-level coordination, and driving data-based decision-making. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with government departments at state and district levels to implement SSA programs and reforms. Provide technical and strategic assistance in areas like Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN), ICT in schools, Teacher Professional Development, and Learning Outcome Improvement. Collect, analyze, and present data from education systems (e.g., UDISE+, NAS, Gunotsav) to inform program decisions. Prepare high-quality documentation such as reports, presentations, proposals, training materials, and policy briefs. Conduct regular field visits to schools and clusters to monitor implementation progress and identify challenges. Coordinate capacity-building initiatives for teachers, academic resource persons, and local education officials. Liaise with SSA officials, consultants, and external partners for smooth program execution. Qualifications & Skills Masters degree in Education, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field (preferred). 15 years of experience in education consulting, government projects, NGO/CSR in school education, or related sectors. Familiarity with Maharashtras school education ecosystem and national education schemes (SSA, NEP, RMSA). Strong data analysis and documentation skills; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and digital collaboration tools. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, Hindi, and preferably Marathi. Ability to work independently in a government environment and manage multiple stakeholders. Nice to Have Experience with education MIS platforms (UDISE+, Shaala Siddhi, Prabodhini).Exposure to working in government/CSR/public-private partnerships. Field experience in school monitoring, teacher training, or policy implementation.
