As an Operating Theatre (OT) Technician, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of junior OT technicians and nursing staff. This includes allocating duties, preparing duty rosters, and ensuring that the OT is fully prepared for surgeries by arranging instruments, sterile equipment, and consumables. You will also verify the functionality and readiness of all equipment and supplies. During surgeries, you will provide technical assistance to surgeons and nursing staff by handing instruments and consumables. It is essential to maintain the sterile field and follow strict aseptic techniques to ensure the safety of the patients and prevent infections. Additionally, you will monitor and enforce strict adherence to sterilization protocols and infection control measures, along with conducting regular physical verification of all OT equipment and maintaining fumigation records. Managing and maintaining the inventory of surgical instruments and consumables will be part of your responsibilities. This includes ensuring timely requisitions and reporting any defective equipment or instruments for repair or replacement to the OT in-charge. You will also assist with patient transfer and positioning on the operating table, prioritizing patient safety and comfort. Active participation in the "Time Out" safety checklist before surgery begins is crucial for patient care. This is a full-time position that requires you to work in person at the designated work location.,
