About Codem Codem is a technology services company specializing in eCommerce, custom applications, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and systems integration. We work with global enterprises to build and modernize scalable platforms. We are expanding into hardware engineering workloads and seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Slurm workload manager and EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence). Please do not apply if you do not have hands on experience with Linux Slurm or you have not worked with EDA Tools. EXPERIENCE WITH SLURM IS A MUST. Role Summary As a Slurm Engineer, you will design, optimize, and maintain compute environments for hardware engineering jobs running on Slurm clusters. You will work closely with chip design and verification teams using EDA tools such as Synopsys and Cadence, ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient job scheduling. This role requires deep Linux expertise and practical Slurm management experience, with a focus on high-performance co mpute (HPC) workflows. Key Responsibilities Manage and optimize Slurm clusters for scheduling and running EDA jobs. Automate cluster provisioning, configuration, and scaling for large hardware engineering workloads. Support design teams using Synopsys, Cadence, and other EDA tools, ensuring efficient job submission and resource usage. Troubleshoot job failures, performance bottlenecks, and system-level issues. Implement monitoring, logging, and usage reporting for compute resources. Collaborate with hardware engineers to fine-tune scheduling policies (fair-share, preemption, job priorities). Maintain cluster security, user access, and job accounting. Write automation scripts (Bash, Python, or Ansible) to streamline operational tasks. Document best practices for cluster usage and train engineering teams. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field. 4+ years of experience in DevOps, HPC, or infrastructure engineering. Strong background in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu). Hands-on experience with Slurm workload manager – configuration, scheduling policies, troubleshooting. Exposure to EDA tools (Synopsys VCS, ICC2, Cadence Innovus, Virtuoso, etc.). Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.). Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
