Pre-Primary Teacher

Job Summary

The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for nurturing and educating young children (typically ages 2.5–5 years) by creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with the school curriculum
• Foster a warm, caring, and safe classroom environment
• Encourage learning through play, storytelling, music, art, and hands-on activities
• Support children’s social, emotional, and language development
• Observe and assess students’ progress and maintain individual student records
• Identify learning or behavioral concerns and communicate them to parents and school authorities
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff for curriculum planning and school events
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding child development and progress
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Relevant teaching experience in a pre-primary or kindergarten setting (preferred)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young children
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
