Organization: Praxis Group of Companies (Praxis Business School, AIM Education, and Zettawise Consulting) Location: Kolkata – Bakrahat Campus / Salt Lake Campus Experience Required: Minimum 10 years in core areas listed below Reporting To: Director – Finance and Administration Role Overview: The Manager – Tech Systems will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving all technology systems and digital assets across the Praxis Group. This includes infrastructure, cloud platforms, network security, end-user support, and the digital tools used for academic and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure planning, and technology operations in an academic or small-to-mid-sized organizational setting. Key Responsibilities: 1. Server and Infrastructure Management Administer and maintain Linux-based servers (physical or virtual) Install, configure, and maintain core applications and databases (e.g., MySQL/PostgreSQL) Set up and manage internal firewalls, file systems, and system services 2. Cloud Platform Administration Configure and manage cloud services including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Zoho Administer cloud-based applications used across departments, including: Google Workspace (including Gmail and Google for Education) Moodle or equivalent Learning Management Systems Academic and administrative information systems Design and implement secure access control mechanisms for cloud services 3. Network Management Administer and monitor campus-wide TCP/IP networks, including setup of routers, switches, and firewalls Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networks Ensure adequate network coverage and performance across academic and administrative buildings 4. Enterprise Applications Familiarity with hosted ERP and CRM platforms used in academic and administrative operations Liaise with software vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning of these platforms Provide support for basic issues and coordinate resolution with vendors 5. Cybersecurity and Access Control Implement and manage secure access to systems (e.g., 2FA, role-based access) Monitor for unusual activity and enforce policies to prevent hacking or unauthorized access Maintain up-to-date controls over credentials for: Web domains and DNS SaaS and cloud application services Social media accounts and digital platforms 6. IT Support and End-User Assistance Provide direct support to staff, faculty, and students for hardware and software issues Manage maintenance, upgrades, and replacement cycles for desktops, laptops etc Assist users in navigating digital tools and basic troubleshooting 7. Asset and Vendor Management Maintain inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and network equipment Coordinate with vendors for AMC, warranty service, and procurement Assess, specify, and recommend purchases of new systems or upgrades 8. Policy Development and Compliance Develop and implement IT security policies, including: Password management protocols across platforms Role-based access control and periodic security audits Security measures to prevent hacking or data breaches (e.g., MFA, endpoint protection) Formulate and enforce a data and document privacy policy aligned with legal and institutional standards Design and maintain a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategy to ensure business continuity in case of system failure, cyber-attack, or data loss Conduct periodic tests and reviews of recovery procedures Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with a science or engineering background. Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in systems administration, infrastructure, and IT operations Proven experience supporting cloud platforms and campus-wide IT services Required Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Linux server administration and shell scripting Familiarity with cloud service platforms: Google Workspace (preferred), AWS, Azure, Zoho Experience managing Moodle or equivalent LMS Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and VPNs Exposure to ERP/CRM systems used in educational settings Preferred Attributes: Ability to work independently and take ownership of institutional IT infrastructure Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills Problem-solving mindset with a service-oriented approach Comfortable interfacing with technical vendors and non-technical staff alike
