Role & responsibilities A QA/QC Head in a construction company is responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance and quality control processes across all construction projects . This role involves developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement in construction quality. Key Responsibilities: Developing and Implementing Quality Management Systems: Creating, updating, and ensuring the effective implementation of QA/QC procedures, plans, and protocols for all construction activities. Conducting Audits: Regularly inspecting construction sites, materials, and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Ensuring Compliance: Verifying that all construction work meets the required codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO, local building codes, project-specific requirements). Managing QA/QC Teams: Leading and mentoring QA/QC personnel, providing guidance on quality procedures, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization. Identifying and Addressing Issues: Recognizing potential quality problems, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective and preventative actions to minimize defects and rework. Collaborating with Stakeholders: Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure consistent quality outcomes. Documenting and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of quality inspections, audits, and non-conformances, and generating reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance quality control processes, implement new technologies, and improve overall construction quality. Training and Development: Ensuring that all personnel involved in construction activities are adequately trained on quality procedures and standards. Project Handover: Overseeing the QA/QC aspects of project closeout, ensuring all documentation, punch lists, and final inspections are completed satisfactorily. Skills and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of construction processes and quality control principles. Experience with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, local building codes). Excellent leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in quality management software and tools. Ability to analyze data and identify trends. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience with risk assessment and management. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred). Relevant certifications (e.g., CQM, CQA) may be required or preferred. Preferred candidate profile Immediate Joiner Chennai Candidate / or ready to relocate immediately to Chennai Salary is not a constraint for a right candidate.
