As a Senior Engineer Engine Development at UD Trucks, you will play a crucial role in supporting and managing the Base engine and combustion application components throughout all project phases. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating in-house and supplier development, ensuring the release of CAD models and drawings, updating and creating necessary design documents, interacting with various teams within the company and external suppliers, preparing verification plans, validating designs, solving field quality issues, performing cost improvements, and supporting platform in defining design and verification guidelines for components. You will be the key point of contact for all Base Engine and Combustion hardware related matters in Powertrain Engineering Bangalore. Your role will involve managing and maintaining Base engine and Combustion hardware components, anchoring design work and quality control, defining technical strategies with suppliers, evaluating component development budgets, and leading cross-functional teams. To qualify for this position, you should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, have at least 6-8 years of experience in Engine components development, possess overall powertrain knowledge, and be proficient in CAD modeling using Pro engineer. Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential for effective communication. The ideal candidate for this role should be a strong team player, passionate about automotive products, structured, analytical, solution-oriented, capable of leading cross-functional teams, skilled in conflict resolution, and able to perform complex assignments. You should also demonstrate strong technical leadership skills, effective communication abilities, project management expertise, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while making sound priority decisions.
