PowerBI Engineer

You will be part of the Cloud Platform Engineering team at Motorola Solutions, supporting the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure, reliability, security, and business operational services for the company's public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Supporting the cloud monthly budget and forecast process by managing consumption, chargeback, and savings in coordination with accounting, finance, and technical owners. - Assisting stakeholders in understanding their cloud spend based on their business roadmap and budgeted forecast. - Monitoring cloud consumption at the account level to identify, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes. - Analyzing, reporting, and deriving meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools. - Collaborating with Cost Optimization Engineers to track resource utilization, define and execute relevant cloud commitment plans, and develop strategies to re-purpose freed-up capacity. - Designing, developing, and maintaining reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) providing detailed usage statistics of resources across the multi-cloud landscape. - Evaluating and investigating data patterns to derive insightful knowledge informing strategic and operational decisions. - Participating in business case development, cost modeling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and trade-off exercises. - Engaging in automating, integrating, and enhancing the Cloud FinOps processes and data. Basic Requirements: - Strong knowledge and experience in Power BI and SQL. - High-level knowledge of one of the cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). - Good to have experience with Tableau or any other reporting tool. - Good to have expertise in Apache Spark and SQL Server. - MBA degree is preferred. This position does not have any travel requirements or relocation provided. It is an Experienced level position at Motorola Solutions.
