Power Conversion Solutions Engineer - Mechanical

As a Mechanical Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for implementing project designs, creating component libraries, and developing specifications for standard reusable accessories and components such as Inverters, transformers, and Panels. You will work within a central data repository and report to the team manager of INOPC PGGA PCS - Power System Engineering team. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading and executing conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for Structural steel skids, Metal Enclosures/Containers, Portable substations, and MV/LV panel housings - Performing structural analysis and FEA simulation on containers/skids, considering various loads such as Dead load, live load, Wind load, and seismic load as per applicable standards ASCE-7 - Developing and validating lifting and transportation plans, designing HVAC systems for battery/storage containers, applying ISO and IEC standards, and preparing design documentation, drawings, and engineering BOMs - Working on electromechanical integration with electrical and controls teams, engaging with Global Stakeholders, providing technical input during manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes - Conducting CFD analysis for battery containers, supporting motion studies, rendering, and VR walkthroughs for design reviews and customer presentations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field - 5 to 10 years of experience in layout design, switchgear/metering cabinet design, understanding of electrical clearances and safety norms for MV/LV applications - Familiarity with the manufacturing process of control panels, distribution systems, UPS, and battery-based power systems - Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings and SolidWorks for 3D Part & Assembly modeling, FEA analysis, CFD analysis, Motion Study, Animation, Rendering, and VR walkthroughs Hitachi Energy values safety and integrity, and as a Mechanical Engineer, you are expected to uphold these core values by taking responsibility for your actions, caring for your colleagues, and the business.,
