Power BI Engineer

As a Lead Power BI Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying Power BI dashboards and reports. Your expertise in SQL-based data models and queries will be essential for creating advanced Excel reports and visualizations using pivot tables, Power Pivot, and cube functions. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining OLAP cube connections for Excel-based analysis. Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions will be a key part of your role. Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting systems, establishing best practices for Power BI and Excel reporting, and mentoring junior BI engineers and analysts will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, staying current with BI trends and recommending tools and techniques to enhance reporting capabilities will be essential for this leadership position. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI dashboards and reports - Expertise in SQL based data models and queries - Create advanced Excel reports and visualizations using pivot tables, Power Pivot, and cube functions - Build and maintain OLAP cube connections for Excel-based analysis - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions - Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting systems - Establish best practices for Power BI and Excel reporting, governance, and version control - Mentor and guide junior BI engineers and analysts - Stay current with BI trends and recommend tools and techniques to enhance reporting capabilities **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field - 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics - Expert-level proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization) - Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning - Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, Power Pivot, cube formulas, and OLAP integration - Experience working with large datasets and complex data environments - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Ability to lead projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / SVN This company also values candidates with experience in cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift), knowledge of Python or R for data analysis, and certification in Power BI, Excel, or related technologies.,
