Job Summary

Minimum 8+ years as a Database Administrator with deep hands-on experience in PostgreSQL (5+ years specifically in PostgreSQL).

At least 3+ years working with AlloyDB or similar cloud-native, managed PostgreSQL-compatible databases.

Core Responsibilities:

Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain PostgreSQL and AlloyDB database solutions ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.

Manage end-to-end database administration including migrations, replication, security, backup, and recovery.

Lead efforts in performance tuning, query optimization.

Configure and administer high availability (HA) architectures including failover, clustering, and read replica management.

Implement database security policies, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.

Automate tasks using shell scripting and manage monitoring and alerting systems.

Work closely with developers and application teams to integrate with data sources and optimize workflows.

Required Technical Skills:

Expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, SQL and procedural languages (PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL).

Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting proficiency.

Familiarity with connection poolers like pgPool and pgBouncer.
