PostgreSQL DBA

Role Overview: You will be working as a PostgreSQL DBA with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Your main responsibilities will include having a strong knowledge of Postgres Architecture, performing various types of backup and restores in Postgres, handling database upgrades on minor and major versions, managing database replication and point-in-time-recovery, and troubleshooting performance issues like load average, locks, blocking, and long-running SQLs. Additionally, you will be expected to work on common PostgreSQL configuration parameters, system tables usage, maintenance tasks, deployments in cloud environments like AWS(RDS or EC2) or GCP, and high-availability solutions like Repmgr, pgpool, or efm10. You should also be proficient in administering multi-terabyte databases, have the aptitude to learn new technologies independently, possess strong communication skills, and collaborate effectively with various business and technical teams. Ideally, you should have a background in building large database infrastructure supporting high transaction volumes in a mission-critical environment.
