PostgreSQL Database Administrator

To qualify for this position, you should have a minimum of 4 years of experience providing technical and operational support for Database Servers. Proficiency in PostgreSQL database cloning using Pg_dump and Pg_Restore is essential, along with experience in Postgres Connection Pooling, particularly PgBouncer. Strong skills in areas such as Replication, High Availability, Backup/Recovery, performance tuning, SQL, and Linux scripting are required for this role. Effective communication is a key requirement as you will manage escalation calls and work on enhancing database health and capacity planning. Experience in managing Development, QA, Staging, and Production databases and applications is valuable, along with the ability to upgrade PostgreSQL Databases, monitor production databases, and optimize developer SQL code. The role also involves developing and improving procedures for automated monitoring and minimizing downtime, as well as supporting complex web-based applications. Your responsibilities will include handling Automatic Switchover and Failover processes and ensuring regular maintenance on databases. For this position, a minimum of 5 years in a related role with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience is typically required.
