Postgres Database Engineer

In this role as a Postgres Database Engineer at our company, you will have a variety of responsibilities related to Postgres databases. Your tasks will include installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, deploying, and running Postgres databases. You will be evaluating and preparing new and upgraded Postgres offerings for company-wide use. Additionally, you will document and present best practices to our hosting, database administration, and operational support teams. Automation tasks such as Failover and Switchover using Patroni cluster management will also be a part of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, deploying, and running Postgres databases - Evaluating and preparing new and upgraded Postgres offerings - Documenting and presenting best practices - Automating tasks like Failover and Switchover using Patroni cluster management Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree - Solid understanding of Postgresql DBMS concepts (ACID, CAP, consistency) - Experience with enterprise-scale Postgres deployments - Knowledge of high availability configurations, fault tolerance, replication, cluster management, automated provisioning, backup and restoration techniques, security mechanisms, and troubleshooting - Familiarity with Postgres internals, performance tuning, Unix command line, HA tools like Patroni Cluster Manager, code/script writing skills, database administration, Unix system administration, virtualization, cloud infrastructures, public cloud offerings, and modern storage and compute technologies If you are a proactive and experienced Postgres Database Engineer seeking to contribute to a team dedicated to optimizing database technologies for large-scale enterprises, we invite you to apply for this Contract-to-Hire position with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
