Port Captain - Marine

The job responsibilities include approving vessels for dimensional suitability for safe terminal operations, monitoring the safe ship-shore interface of all vessels at jetty berths, overseeing traffic in the port area for the safe transit of vessels, conducting vessel inspections at jetty berths to identify deficiencies for reporting, supervising Vessel traffic controller and jetty officers for efficient discharge of their duties, and resolving problems arising from operations involving ship or terminal. The ideal candidate should possess a valid Master FG certificate issued by the Director General of Shipping, India. In addition, the candidate should have a minimum of one year experience as a master on tanker (Oil or Chemical or Gas), with experience working at a liquid terminal being preferable. The required skills and competencies for this position include having a sound knowledge of tanker cargo operations, basic computer skills, familiarity with MARPOL, SOLAS, DGS, and MS act, as well as a basic understanding of terminal operations.,
