Your main responsibilities will include leading the research and development of water-based acrylic emulsions for various applications, designing and optimizing polymerization processes for new product formulations, overseeing the synthesis and scale-up of polymers for paints, adhesives, and construction chemicals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to transition lab-scale innovations to commercial production, conducting performance testing, benchmarking, and continuously improving product lines, as well as maintaining documentation, IP records, and ensuring regulatory compliance. To excel in this role, you should have deep expertise in water-based acrylic emulsion chemistry, a strong command over polymer synthesis, emulsion polymerization, and formulation science, proven experience in scaling up from lab to pilot and commercial scale, familiarity with application-specific requirements in paints, adhesives, and construction chemicals, an analytical mindset with practical experience in characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, Rheology, and the ability to work independently and mentor junior researchers. You have 2 years of experience in wet and dry emulsion adhesive batch processes, from initial charging to the final product. You possess knowledge of emulsion adhesive production operations and process methods, including operating the DCS system. Your responsibilities include monitoring and controlling all batch process parameters safely. You have experience in batch processing various types of adhesives such as wet lamination adhesive, dry lamination, homopolymer adhesive, wood adhesive, water-based adhesive, solvent-based adhesive, paint adhesive, side pasting adhesive, furniture adhesive, pressure-sensitive adhesive, label adhesive, and paper adhesive. You are adept at working independently to synthesize, improve, and customize polymers. You take necessary actions when the DCS indicates any alarm and ensure the final product meets the specified requirements. Your knowledge extends to raw materials and following safety norms to achieve zero accidents and breakdowns. You are familiar with implementing Kaizen practices in a plant, adhering to ISO standards, and engaging in 5S activities. Additionally, you have experience handling manpower effectively. Your qualifications include a B.Tech or Diploma in a relevant field. The key skills you possess are related to product management, production supervision, and implementing Kaizens and ISO standards. He should have 3 - 7 year post qualification working experience as R & D Chemist in Reputed & well-known Chemical manufacturing plant. preferably in Process Technology and R & D Lab of Epoxy Resins manufacturing or Epoxy Resin formulation Plant, Paint & Industrial Coating plant or Powder Coating Plant. Knowledge about Liquide Epoxy, Epoxy Hardner, Powder Coating Process, Property test of RM, epoxy system formulation & some knowledge about laboratory equipments & its use will have added advantage. Some working knowledge about Epoxy Hardner process & Property test will have added advantage. Some working knowledge about controlling Extruder for Powder Coating.
