Job Title: Head – Polymer Purchase Department: Procurement Location: Usmanpura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Industry: Manufacturing / Plastics / Polymers Experience: 15–20 Years Job Purpose: To lead and manage the procurement of all polymer raw materials (e.g., PP, PE, PET, PVC, etc.) required for production operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely availability in alignment with business goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement & Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for all types of polymers. Identify reliable suppliers (domestic & international) and negotiate long-term agreements. Monitor global polymer markets, trends, and pricing to optimize procurement timing and costs. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply and quality. Evaluate and audit suppliers regularly for performance, quality, and compliance. Cost Optimization: Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply security. Analyze landed costs, logistics, and taxation to ensure best pricing and delivery. Inventory Management: Coordinate with production and inventory teams to maintain optimum stock levels. Implement demand forecasting and inventory planning systems. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and company policies during procurement. Oversee proper documentation, purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the polymer purchase team. Drive performance KPIs and encourage cross-functional collaboration. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of polymer raw materials and their market behavior. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Analytical mindset with experience in cost modeling and risk analysis. Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: Graduate in Engineering / Science (preferably Polymer). MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management (preferred). You support our team as R&D Specialist (F/M/D) Responsibilities Develop new and improved products to meet customer demands in a rapid and timely manner. Provide rapid and timely technical service, assisting Sales, operations, and customers. Work closely with Sales to develop and recommend products, as well as application equipment and techniques. Support Sales during field trial and customer complaint that may require travelling to customer site as and when needed. Qualifications 10 to 12 years of experience in a Multi National Company. Minimum of master’s degree in chemistry or related field. Minimum of ten years of industrial experience, including formulating or an advanced degree in Chemistry or related field. Working knowledge of lubricants and surface chemistry. Knowledge of Synthetic organic chemistry, polymer and materials chemistry. Proficient in Microsoft Office software, electronic literature research and scientific software (i.e. ChemDraw, SciFinder, Belstein).
