As a Mechanical Component Engineer, Sr., you will play a key role in the qualification, testing, and validation of Mechanical and Electromechanical alternate/replacement parts. Your responsibilities will include identifying and qualifying second sources for material availability, performance enhancement, cost reduction, and reliability improvement. You will be involved in alternate component searches, providing detailed comparison reports, guiding component selection for new designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility. Your skills in understanding detailed manufacturing processes and Mechanical/Electromechanical components will be crucial in this role. Expert knowledge in Mechanical component parameters and their impact on product performance, along with proficiency in interpreting component data sheets, will be essential. Additionally, your ability to work closely with various teams to optimize component usage for design and assembly purposes will be valuable. Desirable skills for this position include knowledge of BOM Management tools, experience with PLM and Library management systems, and familiarity with industry standards. Competencies such as communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making will be key to your success in this role.
