Plumbing Project manager

Role Overview

The Plumbing Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, installation, and maintenance of all plumbing systems in projects, including water supply, drainage, sanitary fixtures, rainwater harvesting, and associated piping works. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, safety protocols, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

• Review plumbing drawings, designs, and technical specifications.
  
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, and other service managers for smooth execution.
  
• Plan material requirements, manpower allocation, and work schedules.
  

Execution & Supervision

• Manage installation of plumbing systems, piping networks, pumps, valves, sanitary fixtures, and fittings.
  
• Ensure proper connection of water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems.
  
• Monitor subcontractors and vendors for timely and quality delivery.
  
• Inspect works for compliance with standards and project specifications.
  

Quality, Testing & Safety

• Conduct testing and commissioning of plumbing systems.
  
• Ensure quality control measures and adherence to IS/NBC/local authority codes.
  
• Implement safety measures at site.
  

Administration & Reporting

• Prepare BOQ, cost estimates, and material requisitions.
  
• Monitor budget, progress, and resource utilization.
  
• Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and supervisors.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports for management and clients.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, pumps, sanitary works, and water distribution.
  
• Familiarity with NBC, IS codes, and local building/plumbing regulations.
  
• Project management and leadership skills.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project scheduling tools.
  
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering (preferred with specialization in plumbing).
  
• 812 years of experience in plumbing works for high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, or infrastructure projects.
  
• Hands-on experience in execution, testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
