Job Overview

Care Group of Institutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Admin Department on a full-time basis in Tiruchirappalli. This mid-level role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance, preferably within an educational or institutional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of plumbing systems, maintaining infrastructure, and upholding safety and compliance standards across the campus.

Qualifications and Skills

Mandatory:

  • System Maintenance: Expertise in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water supply systems, drainage systems, and sanitary fixtures.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with plumbing codes, blueprints, and system schematics.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose plumbing issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working with maintenance teams, electricians, and facility managers to coordinate infrastructure repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ability to plan and execute regular plumbing inspections to prevent system failures.
  • Budget Awareness: Experience in managing procurement for plumbing tools, materials, and replacement parts within allocated budgets.
  • Safety Compliance: Knowledge of occupational health and safety guidelines specific to plumbing and facility maintenance.
  • Record Keeping: Proficiency in maintaining maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory records.
  • Communication Skills: Capability to communicate clearly with staff, vendors, and administrative personnel.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipelines, valves, sinks, toilets, water heaters, and drainage systems.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings to identify plumbing routes and components.
  • Coordinate with other facility management staff to address cross-functional maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs for compliance and auditing.
  • Monitor plumbing inventory and request necessary materials and tools in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to local plumbing codes and institutional safety standards.
  • Identify and address potential plumbing hazards proactively through scheduled inspections.
  • Provide input on plumbing system upgrades and infrastructure development.
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for plumbing maintenance and infrastructure improvements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
