As a Substation Engineer (Electrical) at Assystem, you will play a crucial role in the design and engineering works related to EHV/HV Substations, DRPC/SVC Stations, OHTL & Underground distribution, and renewable power plants. With a minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree and 7 to 10 years of extensive experience, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and thorough designs that meet industry standards, international design standards, and engineering practices. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of specifications for Substation Equipments and components, as well as engineering calculations such as Grounding, lighting, lightning, load calculations, breaker & cable calculations, equipment sizing, short circuit analysis, bus-bar sizing, overhead conductor sizing, sag tension, and cable pulling & tension calculations. Additionally, you will utilize software tools like ETAP, PSCAD, PLSCADD, CDEGS, CYMGRD, DIALUX, DIgSILENT, PLEXOS for energy modeling and power system engineering simulations. You should have a broad understanding of GIS, Transformer, Switchgear, Protection and Control (P C), SCADA, SAS, Telecom, Teleprotection, and substation design. Experience in Power plants including PV Plants and HVDC Systems will be advantageous. Familiarity with local and international standards, especially SEC standards, is preferred. As the primary engineer, you will act as a lead Engineer ensuring the implementation of an inter-discipline coordination system before issuing the final drawings. You will also perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, stability, arc flash, harmonics, grid impact study, insulation coordination study, and transient studies. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field and possess a minimum of 12+ years of experience in transmission line design. Proven expertise in leading large-scale design projects, delivering projects on time and within budget, and a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools are required. They will also get engaged with OG, mining, and other heavy industrial process plants as and when required. A Career Level 3 engineer carries out engineering assignments of moderate to complex level. Under direct supervision and direction of a Lead / senior engineer, this role is responsible for a project or part of a project requiring knowledge of conceptual design, FEED / outline design, detailed design for transmission and distribution projects. Perform self-check and QA/QC on projects before submittal to the client. Prepare cost estimates on engineering and construction packages. Develop a bill of material required for construction based on client standards. Develop permit drawings as necessary to accommodate construction. Capable to analyze, assess, evaluate the issues, complexity pertaining to projects / work packages and support the lead in mitigating them in advance.
