Job Description Head of Controls & Automation Position Overview We are seeking a senior-level Controls & Automation professional to lead our Body-in-White (BIW) welding automation function. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in executing automation projects for welding fixtures, including robot integration, PLC design, pneumatics, safety systems, and shop-floor-level utilities. The role will require strategic leadership, and cross-functional coordination across design, manufacturing, and execution teams. Location: Gat No. 76, Kuruli, Tal- Khed, Chakan, Pune-410501 Experience Required: 15+ Years Reporting To: Technical Director / Managing Director Department: Engineering Controls & Automation Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead the execution of control and automation systems for BIW welding fixture projects. Oversee project lifecycle from concept development through commissioning. Ensure the automation architecture aligns with the latest automotive design and safety standards. Engineering & Design Direction Provide hands-on leadership in design and development of PLC hardware & software, pneumatic circuits, robot integration, and manufacturing control systems. Develop and review control circuit diagrams, I/O lists, functional logic, and safety interlocks. Ensure adherence to OEM specifications, plant safety requirements, and industry-standard control practices. Cross-Functional & Team Leadership Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for integrated execution. Guide, mentor, and review the work of the controls engineering team and automation support staff. Supervise a multidisciplinary team of engineers and ensure delivery of project-specific engineering objectives. Technology Integration & Innovation Stay updated with emerging trends in factory automation, robotics, and digital controls. Identify and integrate new automation solutions to improve plant performance and customer satisfaction. Recommend upgrades to tools, platforms, or software in the control engineering domain. Candidate Requirements Educational Qualification Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering. Technical Skills & Expertise 15+ years of hands-on experience in control systems for BIW welding automation. Deep proficiency in PLCs (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Delta, etc.), pneumatics, robot integration, safety systems. Understanding of shop-floor utility systems, including SCADA, HMI, and data acquisition tools. Leadership & Collaboration Proven ability to lead automation projects and supervise engineering teams. Strong analytical, coordination, documentation, and people management skills. Prior experience with OEMs or Tier 1 automotive suppliers is a strong advantage.

Experience in Siemens PLC S7 400,300,200 Basic knowledge about PLC hardware systems, UPS & battery, measuring instruments Exp in VFD commissioning & parameterization, SCADA WINCC, Ladder Logic, STL language etc Troubleshooting PLC errors & solving

Work Location: Pune Relevant experience required (in years): 5-9 years of relevant experience in similar field. Your qualification: B.E. B. Tech (ElectricalsElectronics Instrumentation). Tasks and Responsibilities: Good knowledge of Electrical design concepts for material handling industry ( conveyor systems) Very good knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical (or atleast have good knowledge of AutoCAD) Preferably have working knowledge with Autodesk Navisworks Control Panel Design, Field component selection, Cable sizing, Switchgear knowledge Familiar with PLC Hardware, Ethernet network (Allen-Bradley would be added advantage) Familiarity with UL 508/ NFPA design standards would be added advantage. Core Task: Contribute to Electrical design of Warehouse automation systems Prepare electrical layouts and schematic drawings in AutoCAD Electrical software (includes Estop/Device/Ethernet/Power Distribution Layout) Prepare field wiring schematics in AutoCAD Electrical software. (includes field devices and safety devices) Create Bill of Material lists/ I/O lists/ Ethernet ring list etc. Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Problem solving and critical thinking. Job Title: Industrial Automation & Control Engineer / PLC Programmer BE / Diploma Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics 1-4 Years of experience Location: Bangalore Job Summary: Industrial Automation & Control Engineer designs, maintains, and troubleshoots pumping stations that use programmable logic controllers. The PLC Programmer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the process. The PLC Programmer must be able to meet project timelines and could travel to maintain and upgrade software and hardware for customers in facilities. Desired Skills: Excellent knowledge of Industrial Automation & Control Engineering. Experience in designing, developing, and implementing control programs for automated systems using PLC devices from GE, ABB, Siemens, and Rockwell Automation. Experience in configuring PLC hardware and software, including input/output (I/O) modules, communication interfaces, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). Knowledge of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures. Familiarity with Panel GA Drawings and Panel Wiring Diagrams. Onsite experience in commissioning and debugging control systems.
