Job Description

Responsibilities :

1. Design, develop, and maintain Internal Developer Platform (IDP) tools, ensuring they meet the needs of engineering teams. 2. Build and enhance self-service capabilities such as resource provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and service management within the platform. 3. Integrate multiple tools and services (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.) into a unified developer experience. 4. Ensure platform tools are highly scalable, available, and meet security and performance standards. 5. Automate manual processes and remove friction from the development lifecycle by creating easy-to-use interfaces and automation workflows. 6. Work closely with development teams to identify pain points and implement solutions that improve productivity and reduce complexity. 7. Continuously optimize platform tools for performance, security, and developer experience. 8. Work with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to ensure that IDP tools meet all operational and security requirements. 9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate new features and services into the IDP ecosystem. 10. Provide documentation and training to help engineering teams adopt platform tools effectively. 11. Monitor platform performance, gather feedback, and iteratively improve the tools to address evolving needs. 12. Stay updated on emerging trends in platform engineering and developer productivity, continuously improving IDP capabilities. 13. Ensure a smooth developer experience through proactive problem-solving, debugging, and technical support.

Additional Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with microservices architecture, service mesh - Istio, Cilium, and API management.

Familiarity with developer experience tools and frameworks such as GitLab, Jira, or Slack.

Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to monitor platform usage and performance.

Experience with security best practices in a developer platform context (e.g., role-based access control, token management).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and working in cross-functional teams.

Technical and Professional Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering, with a focus on IDP tools or developer productivity platforms.

3+ years of experience with DevOps - CI/CD, Terraform / Kubernetes/ Docker/ Jenkins/ Service Mesh, Cloud DevOps Automation - AWS, Azure, GCP

2+ years of experience and proficiency in IDP toolsets such as Backstage, Humanitec, Port, Cortex, or other similar platforms.

Strong programming/scripting skills in languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar.

Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for service orchestration.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

Strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
