Role & responsibilities Job Role: Head Research & Development (Plastic Compounding) Key Responsibilities: Lead R&D activities in plastic compounding, including the development of thermoplastics, filled compounds, color and additive masterbatches. Innovate and formulate new compounds based on customer and market requirements. Conduct lab-scale trials and oversee scale-up to commercial production. Optimize compounding processes using twin-screw extruders and other industry-standard equipment. Utilize advanced testing and analysis tools like DSC, TGA, FTIR, MFI to ensure quality and performance. Develop and implement strategic R&D roadmaps aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, QA/QC, sales, and marketing) to support product launches and enhancements. Ensure regulatory compliance with REACH, RoHS, UL, FDA , and other relevant standards. Maintain accurate documentation including formulations, test reports, and technical specifications. Provide technical support to customers for custom compound development and product validation. Monitor industry trends and competitor technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of R&D engineers, chemists, and technicians. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, cost optimization, and innovation in product development. Qualifications: B.E./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Plastic Engineering , Polymer Science , or Materials Science . 1020 years of hands-on R&D experience in plastic compounding or masterbatch industries. Expertise in formulation, processing, and testing of plastic materials. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and customer interaction abilities.
