The Lead test engineer position is responsible for upholding their responsibilities within the assigned role s process. A lead test engineer in the Laboratory can be in various roles, including: System Level Test (compressors, air treatment) Module Level Test (compressor and air treatment components) Instrumentation and Calibration (instrumentation use, calibration, troubleshooting) New test facilities infrastructure development NABL and/or equivalent standards implementation Standard work (Test processes, Safety & Lab operations) preparation and implementation Team management (Lab technicians) & CFT management Primarily, a lead test engineer will be responsible for leading multiple projects and assignments. They may be assigned tasks aligned with the core job requirements independently or leading a team, which they are responsible for tracking and managing. They are responsible for managing their daily work and the daily work for others supporting them. They will be responsible for developing and training on standard work. They will regularly train Technicians and Test Engineers on the job through shadowing and mentoring and play a major part in supporting the Laboratory long-term strategy around standard work and Laboratory development. Responsibilities : Should be having experience working in testing and validation function preferably in heavy mechanical equipments like compressors, DG sets and similar. Hands on experience of handling instruments for pressure, temperature, dew point meter, vibration, Noise, Humidity measurement and DAQ (Data acquisition system) Should be able to arrange instrumentations and do the instruments connections to the DAQ as per testing set up requirement. Should be having experience handling electrical test and measuring instruments for e.g. power analyzer, Multimeter, Mili-ohm meter, Megger and others. Hands on experience on selection and programming of DAQ and PLCs preferably Allen Bradley. Lab view knowledge would be an added advantage. Needs to have hands on working approach to work closely with mechanical technician in order to support mechanical installation required for testing compressors, dryers and to learn and develop the mechanical know how to work in mechanical systems independently going forward . Skills: Must possess a strong instrumentation and electrical ability to read and interpret wiring diagram and should be able to teach instrumentation part to the fitter working with him. Should be good at trouble shooting of electrical and control systems of machines. Should be good at co-coordination with the CFT (operations, Plant engineering and material handling) for machine test set up readiness and testing.
