We’re looking for a Senior R&D Engineer. Position: Head – Centre of Excellence (Aviation & UAVs) Reports To: CTO & CEO Location: NCR, Onsite ✨ What You’ll Do Lead advanced research in UAV aerodynamics, avionics, AI/ML, & autonomy Drive technology adoption in swarm drones, counter-drone systems, & BVLOS operations Build & mentor a team of engineers and innovators Develop next-gen UAV prototypes and oversee testing, compliance, & certification Collaborate with academia, regulators, & global aviation bodies 🎓 What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD in Aerospace, Avionics, Robotics, AI/ML, Mechatronics, or Material Science Experience (7–12 years) Proven track record in UAV R&D, innovation, & applied technology development. Strong leadership in cross-functional teams of engineers & researchers Hands-on expertise with: Avionics & Flight Control Systems Propulsion (electric, hybrid, fuel-based) Lightweight composites & materials science Navigation systems (GPS, RTK/PPK, INS) Sensors & payloads: LiDAR, radar, EO/IR, thermal, multispectral, hyperspectral, aerial cinematography Camera & Imaging Systems: gimbal-mounted, stabilized, zoom, night-vision, AI-based processing Computer Vision & Gesture Control Systems AI/ML for autonomy, swarm intelligence, obstacle avoidance Communication systems: SDR, BVLOS, telemetry, IoT Energy systems: advanced batteries, hydrogen fuel cells Skills CAD/CAE: ANSYS, CATIA Simulation: ROS, Gazebo, MATLAB AI frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV UAV flight controllers & mission planning software PCB design: Altium, EasyEDA, KiCad Programming: Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Java, ROS, SQL, embedded C Competencies Strong innovation drive & technology adoption mindset Ability to lead & inspire multi-disciplinary teams Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, & leadership skills Proven ability to translate R&D into scalable, market-ready UAV platforms 🌍 Why Join Pixella ?
