Position Title: Mechanical Draftsperson Department: Engineering Location: Pune, India Reports To: Assistant Manager Mechanical Design Direct Reports: None Position Purpose Support the development of efficient, cost-effective plant designs and ensure timely delivery of project design outputs. Provide technical drafting expertise for Sales, Projects, and Operations teams throughout project life cycles. Key Responsibilities Design & Documentation Prepare detailed mechanical and piping designs and associated documentation. Create 2D and 3D models including plot plans, piping GA drawings, isometrics, skid layouts, and structural fabrication drawings. Develop bills of materials and general engineering documents (e.g., civil guide drawings). Ensure all deliverables comply with quality standards and customer specifications. Project Support Participate in internal, external, and vendor meetings. Contribute to design reviews and incorporate feedback within project constraints. Identify and communicate risks, delays, and design changes to relevant stakeholders. Assist in project closures, including preparation of as-built drawings. Quality & Compliance Adhere to ISO and internal quality management systems. Investigate and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) and opportunities for improvement (OFIs). Support safety and environmental incident investigations as required. Additional Contributions Support proposal engineers during pre-sales design work. Contribute to the development of templates, guidelines, and standard documents. Attend training programs and participate in continuous learning initiatives. Key Requirements Qualifications Certified course in Mechanical Drafting (essential) Degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable) Experience 5–8 years in mechanical and piping design for water/wastewater or similar industries. Hands-on experience with 3D design and plant modeling software. Familiarity with standards: ASME, ANSI, API, Australian Standards. Knowledge of piping standards, materials, and manufacturing processes. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in problem-solving and analytical thinking. Customer-focused with the ability to manage priorities under pressure. Adaptable, organized, and quality-driven. Willingness to travel occasionally.

Develop piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangements based on project requirements and specifications. Ensure compliance with Piping materials, Codes, and standards in all design activities. Preparation of PMS (Piping Material Specification), VMS (Valve Material Specification), Branch Table Prepare and review Piping datasheets, specifications, and technical documents.
