You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, budget adherence, and project schedule compliance for piping material tasks. This includes reviewing the Clients" technical documentation and requirements, designing all piping components, and issuing project piping material specification and data sheets. You will also perform wall thickness calculations of pipes and prepare technical requisitions for piping components calls for tender. Additionally, you will be in charge of evaluating technical bids for piping components offers, issuing technical requisitions for piping components purchase orders, and reviewing and approving vendors" documents. It will be your responsibility to maintain project technical files, update Company standards, and perform inter-disciplines checking for documents related to the piping material section. Furthermore, you will check sub-contracted discipline engineering documents, documents issued by piping material engineers, and material take off issued by the drafting office. You will establish the Marian database, assist the inspection department, and support P&ID section preparation. It is essential for you to keep the Project Piping and Layout leader informed of any anticipated technical, financial, or delay risks on a regular basis.,

The ideal candidate should have solid domain expertise in pipe procurement (MS, SS, CS, Seamless, Welded), understanding of global standards, and experience handling the complete sourcing lifecycle. Track supplier performance, delivery milestones, and ensure PO acknowledgements. Understand and apply Incoterms effectively for domestic & international procurement. Coordinate with logistics, finance, and customs teams for smooth material flow. Candidate Requirements Experience: 57 years in core procurement (not sales, stores, or logistics). Industry Exposure: Must have worked in pipe procurement for EPC / Oil & Gas / Industrial projects . Technical Skills: Knowledge of ASME / ASTM standards , pipe material grades, thicknesses, pressure ratings, etc. Commercial Skills: Proficient with Incoterms , negotiation, vendor development, and ERP (SAP/Oracle preferred). Tools: Strong command over MS Excel and procurement software. Other Requirements: Must be able to join within 30 days . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Lead Piping Engineer shall lead the Piping & Layout team on Engineering activities, which shall include, but not limited to Equipment and Piping layout, Piping stress analyses, Pipe support engineering, Piping Material and Valve specifications, Material Take off, Procurement support and manage interfaces. Experience on projects shall include. Act as a single point of contact on matters related to Piping and Layout Engineering in all phases of the project. Be responsible for the cost-effective Piping and Layout solutions to company projects in compliance with relevant client requirements. Be responsible for the technical integrity for compliance to project HSE requirements relevant to the scope of work. Be responsible for and manage the technical interfaces with equipment and package suppliers, as appropriate, to ensure compliance to Standards & Project Specifications. Provide technical support to the project to obtain necessary approvals from the verification body / classification society or other applicable approving authorities. Represent Piping Discipline in meetings, discussions, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews that relate to piping and layout design and be responsible for closeout of actions identified as required. Identify and manage resource requirements and supervise the distribution of tasks and Lead, guide and mentor the team on the project by providing technical solutions. Be responsible to align to the progress of Piping Engineering scope and internal and supplier deliverables, where applicable, as per the schedule of the project. Be responsible for Management of change within the scope of work for the Piping Discipline on assigned projects. Minimum of 12 years of experience having worked in an engineering organization for upstream oil & gas projects (Wellhead, Process and FPSO projects) serving in the capacity of a Piping Lead Engineer. Prior work experience with medium/ large-sized brownfield and greenfield projects in the Oil and Gas sector with similar roles and accountabilities and possess an excellent understanding of project phases, milestones, and deliverables. Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in Piping and layout engineering, procurement and cost-effectiveness, with a proven track record on projects in the upstream oil and gas sector. Able to demonstrate design experience pertaining to Piping Engineering deliverables, such as, Layout drawings, philosophy, specifications, data sheets, and MTO. Computer literacy, in commonly used business software applications, such as, E3D, PDMS/Navisworks, Autocad, MS Office, and specific software to for stress analyses, pipe thickness, Branch reinforcement, etc. Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialization. Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client technical authorities, and client's project management representatives and approving bodies. Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. 4-6 years of experience in piping material engineering, preferably in [industry sector]. Strong knowledge of piping materials and various piping inline items like flanges, bolts, gaskets, valves, strainers etc. Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API 600, API 602, BS1873, ASME B 16.10, ASME B16.34, Proficiency in corrosion analysis techniques and mitigation strategies is added advantage. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAESAR II, or equivalent is a plus.
