As a Linux Audio QA Engineer, you will be responsible for leading or contributing to the validation and certification of embedded audio subsystems across various platforms. Your role will be crucial in ensuring top-tier audio performance, minimal latency, and seamless integration with voice assistants, telecom, and multimedia stacks. If you are passionate about Linux, audio quality, and the latest in embedded audio technologies, we are looking forward to hearing from you. Your key responsibilities will include developing and executing manual and automated test cases for Linux audio stacks such as ALSA, PulseAudio, and PipeWire. You will validate end-to-end audio use cases like A2DP, HFP/HSP, TDM, I2S, PCM, HDMI, and USB Audio while measuring and analyzing audio performance metrics such as latency, jitter, and synchronization. Additionally, you will collaborate with audio driver, HAL, and platform software teams, utilizing tools like Audacity, arecord/aplay, alsa-info.sh, and latency profilers. Designing and maintaining test automation frameworks using Python and PyTest, documenting results, logging issues, and ensuring timely resolution of audio-related bugs are also part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of the Linux audio stack including ALSA, PulseAudio, and PipeWire. Experience with embedded audio routing, device tree configurations, and hardware interfaces is required. Familiarity with Bluetooth audio profiles (A2DP, HFP/HSP), strong skills in test automation, scripting, and debugging, as well as knowledge of audio test standards and methodologies (e.g., THD, SNR) are essential. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills will be beneficial for success in this position. Experience with Android Audio HAL or embedded multimedia stacks, knowledge of real-time audio processing, and audio codec behavior, as well as exposure to continuous integration (CI) systems for QA pipelines are considered as nice-to-have skills. Role & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and integration of ALSA SoC audio drivers , audio DSP firmware interfaces, and audio middleware components. Work on Linux kernel audio drivers , machine drivers, and integration of audio codecs and amplifiers. Collaborate closely with hardware, DSP firmware, and multimedia teams to enable seamless audio experiences. Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field. 7+ years of experience in Linux audio systems development with strong expertise in ALSA SoC , ASoC layer, and kernel driver architecture. Hands-on experience with audio codec integration , I2S/TDM interfaces , and DMA engine configuration . Strong knowledge of audio pipelines, PCM handling, mixer controls, and device tree bindings for audio. Proficient in C , with good knowledge of Linux kernel internals and debugging tools. Experience working with audio DSPs and firmware interfaces (e.g., ADSP/Hexagon). Familiarity with audio testing tools and automation (e.g., Tinycap/Tinyplay, SoX, Audio Precision tools).
