Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The Engineer shall perform the following 

  • Collect data on pipeline specifications, including maps, construction details, depth of cover, operating pressure, maintenance history, and geotechnical hazards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations, Industry codes, and standards (e.g., ASME B31.4/ B31.8, API RP 1102/1104, ASME B16.5, NACE) to ensure compliance.
  • Communication with various stakeholders such as Pipeline Design/ Inspection/ ROW/Construction teams. 
  • Awareness of Pipeline fabrication, welding , installation, Destructive and Non Destructive , Hydrostatic testing and commissioning methods
  • Perform Pipeline Defect Assessment,

    Crack Management, Fatigue Growth and

    Fracture Mechanics

    and Fitness-for-Service Assessments

    .
    • Determine remaining life and burst pressure of reported crack-like features from in-line inspection data using bp-approve tools such as MAT-8 and Pipelife. Close interaction w/ Integrity Engineers needed.
  • Perform Pipeline Threat and PIM review (Integrating Synergi within current processes and updating documentation)

    • Upload pipeline new data into DNV-GL Synergi tool to improve the model.  This will include many data sets from different sources.  Standardize data formats for easy transfer to Synergi. Re-run the risk model, logging changes to risk.  Compare results to qualitative threat review to see where there are inconsistencies.
  • Perform Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) and Seam Susceptibility Desktop Assessments

    • Perform SCC + Seam Assessments
    • Rainflow data analysis
    • Pipe information research
    • Gather relevant pipeline specs and operating data
    • Working with PLOS
    • SCC and Seam Susceptibility Tools are all excel based

Work Experience

  • 8+ years experience with Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering . Specialization in Pipeline Engineering is an advantage 
  • Experience in Oil and Gas domain with Upstream or Downstream refinery 
  • MAT-8 , Pipelife DNV-GL. 
  • Exposure to RCM ,  Preventive maintenance
  • Exposure to Risk Based Inspection is an advantage
