Role: Electrical Maintenance Location: Near to Kadi Education: BE/BTech - Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Experience: 3 to 8 years Objective: To ensure the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of electrical systems and equipment across the plant by executing preventive and predictive maintenance, performing timely troubleshooting and repairs, monitoring equipment performance, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting shutdowns and projects. The role also emphasizes compliance with safety standards and effective use of systems like SAP PM to enhance equipment reliability and minimize production downtime. Key Responsibilities: 1. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance i. Execute planned maintenance activities on Power substation 66KV,HT & LT distribution ,DC caster, Reheating furnaces, and rolling mills,Pickling,Annealing,Slitting ii. Update PM checklists and maintenance records regularly. 2. Breakdown Troubleshooting & Repair i. Diagnose Electrical faults in equipment. ii. Perform emergency repairs and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence. iii. Ensure quick turnaround of breakdowns to minimize production loss in shifts. 3. Equipment Monitoring & Reliability Monitor the performance of critical equipment. 4. Documentation & Reporting i. Maintain detailed logbooks, maintenance reports, and equipment history. ii. Prepare failure reports and downtime analysis. iii. Handle and maintain records in SAP PM module. 5. Safety Compliance i. Follow and enforce safe work practices, especially substation, power distribution. ii. Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures like LOTO (Lockout-Tagout), permit systems, and PPE usage. 6. Job Purpose To supervise and coordinate all activities related to the pickling process in the steel production line, ensuring efficient operations, adherence to safety and quality standards, and optimal utilization of manpower and equipment. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily pickling operations (batch or continuous lines) to meet production targets. Lead and manage a team of pickling operators, helpers, and crane/forklift operators. Monitor acid bath conditions (e.g., concentration, temperature, contamination) and ensure timely maintenance or replenishment. Ensure metal surfaces meet required cleanliness and quality specifications post-pickling. Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Production Planning teams to maintain workflow. Implement and enforce safety procedures for handling acids and operating equipment. Conduct shift briefings, allocate work, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate records of production, acid usage, waste generation, and downtime. Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and escalate when necessary. Train and mentor team members on standard operating procedures and safety practices. Monitor compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including effluent treatment and hazardous material handling. Required Qualifications & Skills Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. 813 years of experience in pickling operations, including 23 years in a supervisory or foreman role. In-depth knowledge of pickling processes, acids (e.g., HCl, HSO), and related safety precautions. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficient in reading technical specifications and production schedules. Familiarity with ISO standards, 5S, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols. Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, production software, SCADA systems if applicable). Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with continuous or push-pull pickling lines. Working knowledge of environmental compliance (effluent treatment plants, acid recovery systems). Forklift or overhead crane safety awareness. Working Conditions Exposure to acids, heat, fumes, and noise; must wear PPE at all times. Shift-based work (rotational), including weekends and public holidays. Physically demanding environment—standing, walking, and supervising on the shop floor for extended periods.
