The goal of the Radio Systems Researcher role is to develop novel, superior, disruptive technologies for wireless communication and sensing focusing on the physical layer, medium access layer, radio resource management, and system design. The focus is on challenging industry problems that cannot be solved through technologies available today but requires fundamentally different solutions with potential to be realized in the longer term. The novel solutions are expected to result in the generation of intellectual property and technology transfer to business groups and standards organizations. The scope covers radio systems innovations on a medium term for 6G Day 1, as well as long term, for the 6G era and beyond, with a special focus on the application of AI to wireless systems. As a Research Engineer in Radio Systems, you will perform research in the areas of the physical layer, medium access layer, and systems aspects of wireless communications. You will need to understand the fundamentals of communications and have knowledge of the latest academic research and industry trends. You should be able to formulate research questions leading to the creation of innovative, disruptive technology concepts. Your responsibilities will include exploration of new concepts and technologies for advancing wireless communication systems towards meeting future human needs, devising novel communication schemes for new and challenging requirements, proposing and evaluating novel algorithms for optimizing the performance of wireless communication systems, conducting system-level modeling and simulation of wireless communication systems, supporting the development of proof-of-concepts of new technologies, generating intellectual property through patents, disseminating research internally and externally, and engaging with business groups to adapt research concepts towards productization. What you work: As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for driving development and sustenance various Network Functions and/or platform for our Wireless Team. You’ll lead technical initiatives, mentor team members and collaborate closely with cross functional teams to drive innovation and ensure high-quality deliverables. You’ll leverage your expertise to solve challenging problems and contribute to strategic engineering decisions. Good understanding of wireless communication fundamentals and its application in design. Desired skills: Familiar with any of these technologies OFDM, MIMO, Bea, MmformingMSE, Turbo/LDPC codes, Physical channels, CPRI/eCPRI interface. Should have work experience in eNodeB/gNodeB/UE L1 SW development. Familiar with any RAN Platform architecture, L1 Schedulers Good debugging skills, log analysis and solving Field issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience: 10 to 15 years’ experience from Telecommunication or Networking background.
