Job Description

QUALIFICATION MANDATORY (M.P.ED)

Job Summary:

The Physical Educator is responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate physical education curricula for students from Nursery to Grade 10. The educator promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Instruction:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with school standards and child development principles across all grade levels.
  • Teach fundamental movement skills to younger children (Nursery–Grade 2) and develop advanced sport-specific skills and fitness concepts for older students (Grades 3–10).
  • Incorporate health, wellness, and nutrition education as appropriate to age level.
  • Plan and execute a variety of sports, games, and fitness activities that cater to students’ interests and abilities.

Student Development & Engagement:

  • Promote physical literacy, sportsmanship, cooperation, and lifelong fitness habits.
  • Adapt instruction to accommodate students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Assess student progress through observation, skill assessments, and fitness testing.
  • Maintain records of student performance and provide feedback to students and parents.

Safety & Supervision:

  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students during activities.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment and facilities regularly.
  • Implement risk management procedures and respond to injuries or incidents appropriately.

Extracurricular Activities:

  • Organize and lead school-wide physical events such as sports days, inter-school competitions, or fitness weeks.
  • Coach or supervise extracurricular sports teams or clubs.

Professionalism & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate movement into academic subjects.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience preferred, particularly with a wide age range of students.
  • Experience with curriculum development and class management in both early childhood and adolescent settings is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve working both indoors and outdoors in varied weather.
  • Requires physical stamina and the ability to lift and move equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
