Physical Education Teacher

The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for promoting physical fitness, healthy habits, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. They design and deliver engaging physical activity lessons that align with curriculum standards and cater to students of all skill levels. The goal is to help students develop lifelong habits of physical activity and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver PE lessons that meet curriculum guidelines and promote physical development.
• Teach a range of sports, physical activities, and health-related topics.
• Assess student performance, skill development, and participation.
• Foster a safe and positive environment that encourages student participation and personal growth.
• Organize and oversee school sports teams, tournaments, or extracurricular athletic activities.
• Monitor and ensure the safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with varying physical abilities.
• Promote teamwork, fair play, and inclusion in all activities.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and administration about student progress and needs.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and progress reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports rules, and health education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
• First aid and CPR certification (preferred or required in some schools).
• Classroom and behavior management skills.

Work Environment:

• May work indoors (gymnasium) and outdoors (fields, tracks).
• Typically works within school hours, with occasional after-school activities or sports events.
• Engages with students in physically active and sometimes strenuous environments.

Reports To:

• School Principal or Head of Physical Education Department

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,592.80 - ₹35,000.00 per month
