As a Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics, your primary responsibility will involve meeting with expectant mothers for prenatal visits and providing comprehensive care for both normal and problematic pregnancies. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in teaching childbirth preparation classes, offering valuable information, guidance, and hands-on clinical care to pregnant women throughout their journey. During labor, you will be tasked with monitoring the fetal heartbeat, assessing the length and strength of contractions, and providing continuous support to mothers by coaching them and assisting with any complications that may arise. Administering medications as necessary and performing essential tests on newborns post-delivery will also be part of your duties. Further responsibilities include guiding new mothers on various aspects of recovery and infant care, utilizing specialized equipment, and administering medications related to labor, delivery, and newborn care. Your role will also involve continuous monitoring of patients before, during, and after labor, including managing contractions, administering pain medication, and ensuring the overall well-being of both mother and baby. In addition to providing immediate care to newborns, such as cleaning and weighing, you will collaborate with delivering physicians, aid in the birthing process, and maintain accurate records of vital signs and the progression of labor. Your expertise in performing tasks like phlebotomy, IV administration, and hemodynamics monitoring will be essential in delivering high-quality care to patients. This is a full-time position with a rotational shift schedule. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience and be comfortable working in an in-person setting.
