Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Summary

Phlebotomist

Key Responsibilities

Perform
venipuncture and capillary blood collection
safely and accurately.
Collect, label, and store blood samples following
proper protocols
.
Ensure correct patient identification and maintain
zero error
sample handling.
Prepare samples for laboratory testing and coordinate with lab technicians.
Maintain cleanliness of phlebotomy equipment, collection trays, and work area.
Follow
infection control, hygiene, and safety guidelines
strictly.
Provide support and comfort to patients, including children and elderly individuals.
Manage
home sample collection
(if required).
Maintain records, requisition forms, and sample logs accurately.
Handle urgent and priority samples efficiently.
Report any adverse events or difficulties encountered during sample collection.
Maintain stock of required consumables (needles, tubes, swabs, etc.).

Skills & Qualifications

Diploma / Certificate in
Phlebotomy, MLT, DMLT, or related field
.
1–3 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic centre.
Strong knowledge of blood collection techniques and laboratory safety.
Good communication skills and patient handling abilities.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple patients.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
