Job Description

Roles & Responsibility:

Medication Management
: Selecting appropriate medications and determining dosages based on clinical guidelines and accordingly dispensing the medicines to patients.
Monitoring Drug Therapy
: Overseeing patient responses to medications.
Patient Counselling
: Educating patients and their families about medication usage, side effects, and adherence.
Inventory Control
: Managing medication supplies and collaborating with suppliers to ensure availability.
Quality Assurance
: Conduct audits and reviews of medication use to ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in pharmaceutical care

Skills Required

Clinical Knowledge
:

Strong understanding of pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutical care principles.

Communication Skills
:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.

Analytical Skills
:

Ability to assess patient needs and make informed decisions regarding medication therapy.

Attention to Detail
:

Meticulous in verifying prescriptions, dosages, and potential drug interactions.

Teamwork
:

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Qualifications

Education
:

Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from an accredited institution.

Licensure
:

Valid pharmacy license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Experience
:

Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not always required.
