As a Cardiologist, your primary responsibility will involve specialized catheter-based techniques to diagnose and treat heart conditions such as heart attacks, coronary artery disease, vascular disease, structural heart disease, and congenital heart defects. Utilizing various diagnostic tools and imaging techniques, you will measure cardiovascular functions including blood flow in major arteries of the heart, associated blood vessels, and pressures within different chambers of the heart. Your key tasks will include performing procedures such as Coronary Angiograms, Cardiac Catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Balloon Angioplasty, Stent Implantation, Atherectomy, Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging, and Hemodynamic Assessment of Blockages using Pressure Wires. Additionally, you will be responsible for Peripheral Angiograms, Hemodynamic Assessments, and Emergency procedures for patients presenting with heart attacks and cardiogenic shock.
