Department: Projects / Manufacturing Reporting To: Project Engineer / Project Manager Role Objective To support the execution of projects by assembling, testing, and conducting trials of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Vision Inspection Systems, and IVD Manufacturing Machines under the guidance of the Project Engineer. Key Responsibilities Assembly & Fabrication Perform mechanical assembly of machines, sub-assemblies, and fixtures as per drawings. Work with precision tools, fasteners, bearings, shafts, and other mechanical components. Fit and align parts accurately to ensure proper working of the system. Testing & Trials Conduct dry runs and machine trials under supervision. Identify and resolve assembly or alignment issues during trials. Assist in machine debugging, fine-tuning, and performance verification . Quality & Documentation Follow assembly drawings, BOM, and quality standards during execution. Maintain assembly checklists and trial reports. Ensure adherence to safety protocols during assembly and testing. Coordination & Support Coordinate with design, purchase, and automation teams for project execution. Assist Project Engineer during customer inspections and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) . Provide support during dispatch, installation, and commissioning at client site if required. Required Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, fits, tolerances, and machine elements . Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & 3D models . Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation components (preferred). Hands-on experience with mechanical tools, gauges, and measurement instruments . Teamwork, problem-solving, and willingness to work on shop floor. Qualification & Experience Education: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 0-3 years in mechanical assembly, automation, or machine building. The role of the Sr/Staff Process Engineer involves developing assembly processes for photonics/optics products. This includes creating process flows and manufacturing assembly instructions, selecting and sourcing capital equipment and test fixtures/hardware, building prototypes, developing training materials, and implementing processes globally at Jabil manufacturing sites. You will collaborate closely with customers and Jabil's extended cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Program Management, Quality) to deliver optimized process solutions for both customer-designed and Jabil-designed products. Additionally, you will support R&D in evaluating the performance of early product releases. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing process flows and manufacturing assembly instructions for new and existing photonics products, focusing on key process steps such as Die Attach, Active Alignment, and Mechanical Assembly. Conducting Design for Optical Manufacturability Analysis for products developed by Jabil's customers and internally by Jabil's design teams will be part of your duties. You will provide estimates of First Pass Yield, develop rework scenarios, conduct manufacturing capacity analysis based on product demand forecasts provided by Sales/Business Managers, and lead or participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as Process Prime. In this role, you will also conduct or support root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities for both NPI and volume production. Analyzing First Pass Yield data to identify issues with product design and manufacturing floor setup and recommending corrective actions will be crucial. You will develop and modify fiber splicing and connector inspection recipes, control and program process equipment, provide conceptual design, and assist mechanical designers in developing customized assembly tools and fixtures. Furthermore, you will assist QA in developing and implementing Statistical Process Control procedures, calculating and tracking Process Capability Index (Cpk). Verifying process equipment operation, performance, stability, and robustness will be part of your responsibilities. Coverage-driven Verification expertise is required to fulfill the Functional and Performance requirements of the SoC and manage regression effectively. Knowledge of Microcontroller architecture, ARM Cores, Interconnect (NIC, FlexNoC), Cache Coherency, and Bus Protocols like AHB/AMBA, AXI, ACE is essential.
