Job Description

a qualified physician specializing in the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, working under the supervision of a consultant pediatrician

Clinical Care:
This involves performing physical examinations and assessments, diagnosing and treating pediatric conditions, developing treatment plans with senior staff, performing procedures and emergency resuscitation, monitoring patient progress, participating in rounds and on-call rosters, and managing emergencies.
Communication & Administration:
Responsibilities include communicating with patients and families, maintaining medical records, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and adhering to hospital policies and regulations.
Education & Development:
This involves supervising junior staff, participating in teaching and meetings, engaging in continuous professional development, and contributing to quality improvement.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Education:
Requires a medical degree and completion of internship and residency in pediatrics, often with further specialty training.
Licensing & Certification:
A valid medical license and registration with a medical board are necessary. Certifications like PALS or NRP may also be required.
