Job Description

a doctor who is completing their postgraduate training in internal medicine, serving as a bridge between junior doctors and consultants

Patient care
: Directly managing and treating patients, including taking histories, performing physical exams, and creating treatment plans.
On-call duties
: Leading the on-call team and acting as the first point of contact for acute medical issues in the hospital.
Supervision and education
: Teaching and guiding junior doctors and medical students, which includes providing advice over the phone and in person.
Coordination
: Liaising with other departments and healthcare professionals, and often serving as a "gatekeeper" for the medical assessment unit.
Leadership
: Managing patient care and medical emergencies, and contributing to the development of new protocols and procedures.
