The Studio Engineer plays a critical role in the Product Development Team, supporting a wide range of products such as the Surface product line, XBOX console, accessories, and more. Collaborating closely with Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and manufacturing partners, you will be involved in developing world-class products. Your primary responsibility as a Studio Engineer will be modeling exterior Class-A Surfaces for both enhancing existing products and creating new product designs and concepts. In this role, you will work closely with the Industrial Design (ID) team, Mechanical Engineering (ME) team, and the Advanced Prototype Center (APC) to develop CAD models from rough concepts to final Class-A Industrial Design Master Models. Acting as a liaison between the ID and ME teams, you will ensure that all ID requirements are met while resolving ME issues during product development. You will also need to understand and support Mechanical Engineering, Tooling, and Manufacturing requirements while preserving ID intent through production and providing CAD data to support the development of physical prototype models at the APC. To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. However, candidates with 3+ years of experience in these fields but lacking a degree will also be considered. Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of experience in building parametric CAD models using PTC Creo Parametric software and working collaboratively within a PDM system like Windchill or Teamcenter. An understanding of Class-A Surfacing techniques and terminology is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with rapid prototyping processes, subdivision modeling, rendering for product visualization, programming, large-scale CAD data management, teaching others, and technical experience in mechanical engineering, tooling, and manufacturing of consumer products. Being well-organized, especially in managing CAD data while pursuing multiple design development paths, will be beneficial for this role.,
