Role & responsibilities Conducting Eye Exams: Perform thorough routine eye inspections to assess visual acuity, refractive errors and binocular vision. - Diagnosing Eye Conditions: Identify sight problems like nearsightedness, color blindness and glaucoma, and diagnose diseases like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. - Prescribing Treatments: Prescribe corrective lenses, medications and provide recommendations for vision therapy. - Patient Education: Educate patients on proper eye care techniques, corrective lens use and preventive measures. - Maintaining Records: Keep accurate medical files for all patients, including diagnoses, treatment plans and progress.
